487579 2006-09-27 06:08:00 Wow this registry thing has heaps of stuff I don't need. Can I just delete the whole thing? I want more space on my computer. roddy_boy (4115)

Don't underestemate the registry... if you delete one thing your PC potentially might not boot at all everything in the registry is there for a reason, you can be my guest to delete each entry and ensure there are no bad effects due to this and tell me how many you can delete and the PC still functions FULLY The_End_Of_Reality (334)
487582 2006-09-27 21:34:00 What the others are trying to say is DON'T TOUCH THE REGISTRY!

It contains all the settings to make windows run and changing them may make it not.

I had a look on my machine and found that the the strings are slightly different (the long series of numbers) and I'd imagine they are different for each machine. I'm guessing that would make it hard to write a program that would run on every PC to change the mouse buttons.

Also I am a novice user of Visual Studio 2005 (the free version! :)) and have started trying to write a program that would do this however I guess I won't be able to make a standalone executable for it as it would need the runtime installed to work. Unless someone knows a way around it?

487583 2006-09-27 23:20:00 Hmm they have a program on the uni comps called "MouseSwap" or "SwapMouse" or something. It just switches the buttons around. I'll find out what it's called next time i'm there. roddy_boy (4115)
