487461 2006-09-28 17:29:00 I use the NexStar 3 E-SATA external case and at present it just has a 120GB E-SATA drive installed. I think the case can handle up to 400GB drives.
I also use a USB external drive (just a cheap brand) with an IDE drive, but find the SATA drive way faster to read and write to than the USB drive, this is on large files - on small files not really much difference.
My motherboard is the Asus P5WD2-E premium which I am very happy with.

I had sucess with getting the e-sata to work by removed the Jumper block from the Sata2 HDD from the e-sata enclosure.
All the Bios settings remain in default.
