| 487585 | 2006-09-27 04:30:00 | Hi - I'm having problems with opening files (different types) from any USB stick. The same USB drive works OK on my other PC and the same happens when I try to use other USB drives (including my iPod) on different ports on the same desktop - so I was thinking it may be something wrong / missing on this desktop ... any ideas please?? Using XP pro, all MS updates, McAfee internet security (2006); Adaware all up to date |

The same USB drive works OK on my other PC and the same happens when I try to use other USB drives (including my iPod) on different ports on this same desktop - so I was thinking it may be something wrong / missing on this desktop ... any ideas please?? Only change was that I've installed iTunes 7 a couple of days ago? Using XP pro, all MS updates, McAfee internet security (2006); Adaware all up to date. Thanks! |

Select disk management if your removable drive is listed then it is most likely that it is assigned the same drive letter as another device. Right click the usb drive and select change drive letter and paths then select change and assign it an unused drive letter. |

| 487590 | 2006-09-27 17:47:00 | Thanks Steven - I can see the usb drive in disk management but it says "unallocated" - right-click does not give me an option to change the drive letter - only "properties, new partition or help" available. | Dan124 (11212) | ||
