Need help with my HD & Mobo. On more than one occasion the Mobo cannot find the HD to load the OS. In BIOS under the "advanced>drive configuration" and the "boot>boot device priority" tabs the HD is nowhere to be found. One time the HD was seen in the drive config but not in the boot priority list. Jumpers are in correctly. OS loaded just fine and no problems on the restarts after installing various hardware and software. I temporarily installed another HD and ran BIOS and it wasn't seen either-ruling HD out as reason. Mobo had similar issues when I got it, returned it for another of the same and still this. Help. Mobo is Intel D865GBF. HD is WD 1200-120gb.
Also I switched DVD drive on IDE slot and same thing. If anyone can help it will be appreciated. |

Try the HDD without the jumper pin. |

I pulled out the jumper from the HD, started it up and no problem so far. In fact the computer seemed to load windows alot faster. Is that something you see, and if I wanted to add my second HD to the same IDE cable will there be any trouble there without the jumper in HD-1? In the mean time thank you very much for the help. It was a big help. |
