Hi all,

I have Windows XP Home on a 2 year old HP laptop.

Just lately when I go to click on the start button to closedown, it is as if the button is not there, it will not action with any mouse click at all (left or right).
Further at the same time none of the "icons" bottom right of the taskbar (near the clock).
I have run defrag, scandisk, Norton Utilities, Ad aware, Anti-virus program all without sucess.
The funny thing is that all the icons on the desktop itself work!!

The problem is not regular, may happen 1 in 10 times I use the computer.

I do not run broadband. (On dialup)

Can anyone help please?
