| 488286 | 2006-09-30 05:09:00 | hi OE6 is duplicating all downloaded emails. i am trying to fathom this out for a friend... on a business computer. the os is windows98 SE... i have tried repairing IE but it made no difference. i have deleted the POP3UIDL.DBX file...rebooted and still emails r duplicated. he has downloaded nearly 3000 over the past couple of days! he keeps a copy on the server (xtra) for 4 days so he can access them from home on another computer which doesn't duplicate them...so i guess it isnt a server problem. he only has the one identity on the computer and only uses OE. my query is this ... if i uninstall IE and OE and it reverts to an earlier version of both... i have read that windows98 doesnt like IE6 so that wont really matter ....or will it?? ...but!...will the emails be there still?? will an earlier version be able to "read" the emails? will there be any other hassles?? or do i need to back them all up? and if so how? and what causes this duplication in the first place? trying to find a solution is like trying to find a hen with teeth!:waughh: thanx for any help Shione |
