488118 2006-09-29 20:36:00 Hello,
I have just received a message to say that one of my messages has been rejected as spam. I haven't read the message which was attached but the address was from my domain but not an address that I have. Does this mean a/ that my computer has been hacked?
or
b/ that someone has just become aware of my domain and is using it to mask where the message is actually originating from?

Is there anything I can do about it?
or do I just put it down to more inconvenience caused by spammers?
Thanks guys,
Rob

488119 2006-09-29 20:50:00 It is quite common for spammers to use a false address in the From field and if it happens to be yours they have used there is not much you can do about it. You will get all the returned messages for a while which is annoying.

If it is only being addressed to xxx@yourdomain and it is not an address you normally use you could get the mail rules for your domain set to not deliver that address but deliver everything else to something@yourdomain.
In other words remove the catch all default for your domain and just specify the addresses you want delivered to you.

488120 2006-11-09 19:24:00 sorry to resurrect this thread guys but this is getting crazy. This morning I received 29 bounced messages which have originated from spam from someone using my domain. I know that I can change my domain and I know that I can change my email, but I am disinclined to as it will cause me a great deal of inconvenience. Is there anyway I can stop these returns clogging up my inbox? in the last week I have received 302 items of spam or returned mail. All I do is delete them, but I am getting mad!
By the way I am on paradise

488121 2006-11-10 00:38:00 I'm no expert, but it seems to me that an answer to Safari's question above would help you get useful help.

.
That is - does this spam come from just one address at your domain, or from many different usernames?

488122 2006-11-10 06:49:00 Unfortunately they are just using the domain and adding what ever prefix suits them at the time so it is a little difficult to block that way. theother1 (3573)
