488752 2006-10-03 05:56:00 I just recenly decided to increase the memory of my old computer so, I took the newer computer ram to switch over and after intalling Kingston 512MB DDR Ram onto my old computer only the Kingston one is working and not the other Hynix 256MB DDR Ram.

Old computer memory: 256MB DDR Ram with Twin Mos and Hynix.
Newer computer memory 1.5GB DDR RAM all Kingston brand.
I use the Twin Mos on the newer computer with no problem but the old Hynix Ram didn't work on the old computer any reason for not working?
The clip is intact. But don't know why it is not working.

P4S333 old mobo from ASUS anyway for 478 pin CPU. Yes I did switch the slot and it is still not working. My mobo manual says it supports the RAM up to 2GB but it is not working.

488755 2006-10-03 07:51:00 But what version of Windows is on it?

The mobo may support upto 2 GB but not all versions of Windows support 1-2 GB.

The mobo may support upto 2 GB but not all versions of Windows support 1-2 GB.Windows XP, the original amount of memory is 512MB and wanted to increase it to 700MB+. So I replaced one of the 256MB RAM and slot it the 512MB RAM. But my XP only shows 512MB of Kingston and not including 256MB RAM (MISSING).
Or Kingston RAM must work with Kingston RAM? Hynix with Hynix?

488757 2006-10-03 11:43:00 have you tried putting one of the rams in slot 1 and the 2nd in slot 3 ? Banking (10989)
488758 2006-10-03 11:46:00 have you tried putting one of the rams in slot 1 and the 2nd in slot 3 ?If I remove the Kingston the Hynix will show 256MB by itself.
Weird I don't so they have Hynix to Hynix because originally I use Twin Mos and Hynix 256MB RAM.
I did try switching slots but it didn't work for me.

488759 2006-10-03 12:08:00 how many slots does you mobo have ? Banking (10989)
488760 2006-10-03 12:10:00 It looks like my newer computer hate the Hynix RAM and when I install it on my newer computer it wouldn't even boot up at all.
Talking about Made in Korea(Hynix) Vs Made in China(Kingston) product quality. Who says made in Korea products are good? Now I need to spend another few hundered dollars upgrading my new RAM.

Thank you guys for your concern. It looks like both of my MOBO loves the Kingston Ram and hate the Hynix. The Hynix is Ok when running by itself or with my old Twin Mos Ram but not with Kingston.

Should I introduce a word to RAM consumers? Get a good brand product rather than cheap bran like Hynix and although Kingston is made in China it has quality control but Hynix? No.
Many stuffs are made in China might look cheap but it depends how much you pay for a product. Cheap=Cheap product, Expensive=Quality Product.
If you're a business man what do you think? Make sense right?
