488773 2006-10-03 04:35:00 Get something better, like Irfanview (www.irfanview.com)

Dont actually know if it does this, I dont use it.

Or Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/)

488774 2006-10-03 04:39:00 Be a lot easier if we knew what programmes you were using and what the existing text consisted of. However, a quick and simple way of overwriting an existing text area is to open the graphic in Word and then position a Text box over the existing text. Write in the new Text box. Really depends on what exists at the moment. Scouse (83)

488776 2006-10-03 08:41:00 Ok for a start - it's an image, pure and simple, and not text, nor a document.

You can do it in Paint, but it's a slow painstaking process - I made an atempt using Photoshop here (www.imagef1.net.nz), and gave up after 20 minutes.

Photoshop, or the free Gimp could do it a heck of a lot easier if you knew what the font is. In which case you'd open the file, use the clone tool to erase the words you want to overwrite; create a new image with your name, as a transparent gif, then copy and paste it into the the existing image.

That's about the best way I can explain it.

Why do you need to do this... it'd be much simpler if you just created a whole new image.

488777 2006-10-03 09:00:00 Ok, I did a demo of what you can do, although I didn't perfect the font size or type... it takes a fair bit of fiddling: Here (www.imagef1.net.nz). Greg (193)

488781 2006-10-03 09:37:00 I smell a potential copyright or "passing off" infringement brewing here, in more ways than one.

Cheers
