| 488735 | 2006-10-03 03:15:00 | Hi, I am trying to install a wireless network card in a computer but it is not being detected. The pc is an old Dell Optiplex GX1 with Windows 98se. I have tried it in both PCI slots one of which had the dialup modem in it but the card light doesnt lit up in either. Is the card likely to be faulty? The specs say it will run on Windows 98se. |

| 488737 | 2006-10-03 04:15:00 | Hi, Yes I installed the drivers before putting the card in like the manual said. After rebooting its supposed to detect the new hardware but it doesnt. its not in hardware devices either. |

| 488738 | 2006-10-03 04:22:00 | have you installed motherboard drivers ? the other thing is to go into bios and select "reset hardware config" (something along those lines). it makes the bios look for all hardware installed. word of warning: if you have an odd custom hardware setup, resetting it can makes windows go a little werid (tho its rare anyone has that). |

| 488744 | 2006-10-03 05:24:00 | And you are trying to network this PC to another PC that has wireless arent you?? I take it, you have another computer / other computers that are using wireless as well? The LED wont light up on it unless its picking up another pc on the network, and its using wireless. And its been configured properly. |
