| 488534 | 2006-10-02 01:16:00 | I have a friend running Windows XP who recently installed Office 97 since when she has noticed a distinct slowing down of her PC. Any clues please? I have suggested Disk Clean-up and Defrag. though not sure whether she has done these or not at this stage. Is Office 97 RAM hungry? TIA Bryden:help: |

| 488537 | 2006-10-02 16:06:00 | check taskmanager for which process is using cpu time.....if a process is locked itself into a loop it'll chew up the cpu......iv'e seen this happen one time with ms works......works calander thing got itself into a loop and was using 100% of the cpu thus the system slowed to a crawl.....if you can identify what the problem is then go startbutton/run and type in msconfig then goto the 'startup' tab and disable the problem program | drcspy (146) | ||
