2006-10-04 00:00:00 | The Goverment works on a 48% depeciation of computer hardware for the first finiancial year, You statement that you knock $500 off a year is pure rubbish. In the cold hard light of day the value of a computer drops its arse the very second it is purchased. Just ignore the financial post would ya? Here's an example that buying a computer can really hurts, Here's a laptop cost around $3000 in the olden days for around 3 yrs and now less than $1000 which you want to sell it for and people expect it to be $500. Uh, huh. this is worst than the depreciation value(or book value) even though you didn't make much use of your laptop. 4yrs? But for me is three years. CJNet shows most people change their computers every four years. Bought a computer? Sorry mate, you're paying for it even though you didn't use it. Just like cars, Ferrari cars have the highest depreciation compared to normal cars. What would you get after ten years? $0. But if it is a antique Ferrari and well cared you could get millions of it. But a computer will never worth that much. $0 means $0 unless the first computer invented or first personal computer in the olden days. :badpc:  :waughh: Oh well, I enjoy watching people buying computers but I'm not goin to get it so soon. Plus I need to see how my upgrade works. :waughh: Just ignore me mates, and lets see how much the noob is going to spend like fancy or no fancy.

2006-10-04 00:57:00 | my advice would be to go for a 7900GT over a 7600GT. but this depends entirely on how much money you may have, and how strong your will power is when november rolls around, as that is when the G80 (nVidia DX10 8000 Series) Cards will be released (so ses numerous news sites) crappy thing is that apparently only Vista will support DX10, and at the moment, my non existant pet dog has a better chance of crapping out fairy dust than Microsoft have of releasing Vista any time soon. Are you forgetting that all graphic's card are backwards compatible. It matters not that only Vista supports DX10.

It matters not that only Vista supports DX10. i do realise that if you put a DX10 card in a PC with DX9, it will run fine on DX9, just if you were purchasing for DX10 purposes, then your plum out of luck. |

2006-10-04 06:30:00 | That's actually a depreciation, you don't need to use that anyway. It's not that important. Except you want to know the market value of your computer after a few years, if you wanted to resell it and don't want to make a lost on it.:2cents: An estimate amount for your computer after two years is $2000-500X2(2 years)=$1000. It is actually true your computer price value will drop. I know we don't talk about financial things often in this forum, but just to let you know if you're on budget and needed to change your computer after a few years. The best lifetime is around 3 years but also must upgrade your graphics card every year. That'll cost a lot right? Not interested? PLEASE DO NOT READ MY FINANCIAL POST. Saving for a big Bling Bling machine.:2cents: [edit], computers arent worth NOTHING in 2 years time, there still worth SOMETHING and im gonna ask you get out of this thread, because 1: you dont know anything about computers and gaming 2: [edit] and 3: [edit] yes, thats you ^^ right there. | 488893 | 2006-10-04 07:39:00 | [Edited out completely quoted comment] lol, sure I'll get one if you said I can't afford one. I was going to get the AMD 62 X2 4600+ anyway but the problem is it doesn't have stock. So have to look for other parts for that. I'm still not sure about motherboards so I need time to look around. AND another problem is my parents Intel Pentium 4 with HT is not very stable at the moment, with 1.5GB DDR RAM and still not very stable. I wonder what fault is that and I'll try get a better computer without any crashes somehow. Did I mention, I'm testing cheap brand products too? If you haven't notice my old Hynix(CHEAP) RAM totally not compatible with my MOBO when I insert in it the whole PC won't boot up. Kingston(FANCY MEANS QUALITY) and Twin MOS(AN OK BRAND) RAM work fine but not Hynix. :yuck: :2cents: You're saying I'm saving this?:2cents: Actually not. I'm looking for the right product. YOU CAN'T BUY A GOOD COMPUTER IN A RUSH! NEVER! Because you're system might look crap and with crappy performance. :( Get the whole thing? Anyway I've wasted $400 on upgrading my old comp and it is going to worth nothing in the next 4months anyway. $400 is that a lot of money to you? Yes? Because you can buy a good looking monitor screen with that money. THIS IS NOT SAVING RIGHT? What about after 4 months? RUBBISH! And I think I've to leave the new computer aside until my exams are over. That's the main reason I've never mention. And after the exams over? Of course look for more money to pump it into your new PC. And it's about time when the Quad Core come out. :illogical Mind your words, or heavens know and hell is waiting.

2006-10-04 07:52:00 | ....the problem is it doesn't have stock. So have to look for other parts for that. Huh??? What the hell is stock? How does a CPU not have stock? AND another problem is my parents Intel Pentium 4 with HT is not very stable at the moment, with 1.5GB DDR RAM and still not very stable. How does 1.5GB DDR RAM affect stability? You should add more im sure that will fix the problem ;) I heard 4GB is the sweet spot. Kingston(FANCY MEANS QUALITY) and Twin MOS(AN OK BRAND) RAM work fine but not Hynix. Why do you keep refering to products as fancy? Do they look good in a dress or something? Its like the idiots on TardMe who refer to cases as looking "handsome".
