I am looking to ship my laptop off tommorow after selling it on Trademe, trying to format the hard drive and reinstall xp for the buyer to activate themselves, but the laptop refuses to boot off anything but it's own hard drive. It is a HP NC4000, it has no floppy drive or cd-rom drive, but I did install XP 6 months ago using the external devices, and the external devices work fine in my desktop. I have tried two different cd-rom drives plugged into the external caddy, and also tried using a bootable usb key I have, which works everywhere else but my laptop now it seems!
I really need a quick fix, I can't send this laptop off with all my stuff still sitting around on it! |
