489239 2006-10-05 00:23:00 They planned to move people over on the 24th of October.

If your plan has already started woundn't some people run into the trouble of already being over their cap due to small fs/fs caps? How do you think they would manage this? Resetting caps once they have transfered seems best bet.

They say: You will be switched on or shortly after 26 October

I would think people would get moved over to the new plans at the end of the billing month, like they did when 3.5M came in.

Take for example our end of the billing month is the 14th of every month, so I would think we would get this new plan on the 15th of Nov.

I Hope this helps :)

489241 2006-10-05 01:37:00 Ok that www.xtraplans.co.nz website got me confused. If i'm currently on the adventure plan of $59.95,how do i transfer to their new $49.95 "go large" plan????? lance4k (4644)

Your on the same plan as me :D

I think if you want to change plans you will need to contact Xtra or your ISP.

At the moment when the new plans come online, You will stay on the same plan i.e. the name will be the same “adventure”

The only thing that will change is your speed, instead of been 3.5M it will be Max i.e. how every fast your line can go & the upload speed will still be at 128K :( :groan:

Hope this helps :)

And you will still have the cap :yuck:

It's a no-brainer for me (well, I am blond) but why stick to an Adventure plan at $59.95 with a 10gig cap and 3.5MB when you can have a Go Large plan at $49.95 with no cap and 'theoretical' unlimited download speed?

My only question would be if being in the 'pool' makes the Go Large plan suck worse than the Adventure plan... can we swap back????

I know last time they 'upped' the plans they sent me an e-mail saying they would get in touch, but I never heard anything, so had to change the plan over myself on line.

yeath, but I prefer to be slowed to dial-up when I go over my cap then telecom stuffing around with FTP (as I am unsure if the traffic management covers FTP, as I FTP a lot i . e . uploading website etc… as I am a web designer)

That the other thing, I am worried about .

489245 2006-10-05 06:31:00 speed isnt so much of a concern to me. i'd be happy with anything 1mbit and above. i could do with a bigger cap though so im probably moving to the go large plan. jason_f90 (3544)

Yep, the traffic management includes FTP, it basicly includes anything other than e-mail and viewing web pages... and even viewing web pages could be affected depending on the number of people in the 'pool' at the same time.

that what I mean, that why I prefer caps to that thing.

$1 per Mb seems fair, you would probally find noone would even ask what the ftp data charges are on their account .
