| 490018 | 2006-10-08 03:27:00 | This computer continuously reboots by itself while attempting to load Windows. Have tried F8 to start in safe mode, last known good options, etc but the restarting attempts continues. I suspect its because of virus infection. I've got AVG installed but since I can't start Windows, I can't run antivirus scan. What shall I do, other than taking out the HDD and put it in another PC to scan and remove the virus? Is there a software (anti-viurs) which I can boot up my PC and run the scan and removal? OS: XP Pro SP2 |

Is or was XP up to date? I've read that XP will reboot if its got spyware on it, before SP2 is installed, or if the CPU is a Prescott, and the patch for this isnt installed. Your CPU isnt a P4 Prescott is it? |
