489963 2006-10-08 02:39:00 How can i tell what kind of motherboard i have? Motokid600 (11183)
489964 2006-10-08 02:52:00 Hi,
Several ways. Do u have the mobo manual? If not take the side off the case and have a look. Or download and use a utility such as belarc, aida32, everest or SIW.

489965 2006-10-08 02:56:00 You can either open up the case, and look on the mobo. The brand/model is printed on the mobo (well usually is).

Or use something like sisoftsandra, or Everest Home. Which needs to be installed, and either will tell u whats in the case.

You need? I thought u had them already.

I wouldnt use a Compaq, if it was the last mobo on earth.

489968 2006-10-08 04:09:00 lol, ok thanks. the only reason why the compaq mobo peaked my interest was becuse it had 3 ram card slots. the other mobo only has 2, but im guessing its still better... Motokid600 (11183)
489969 2006-10-08 04:21:00 If u want to have more ram, get a mobo with 4 slots.

Or if u want more than 4GB of ram, get a mobo that supports up to 8 GB.

Which both of these mobos I think dont go up to. You wld need a whole new mobo and another CPU.

489970 2006-10-08 04:23:00 i know this is off topic, but what is the best processor out right now? Motokid600 (11183)
489971 2006-10-08 04:26:00 Look in Google or Yahoo.

Depends on how much u wanna spend, what u can afford, what u want on a mobo. Like USB / Firewire etc.

Obviously the more addons, connections a mobo has on it, it'll cost more.

489972 2006-10-08 04:30:00 Im getting alot on the Intell Core DUO. im guessing its a really good cpu?

Also will it be compatible with a ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4P800S-X Rev 1.xx mobo?
