2006-10-06 22:14:00 | Have a look and tell us what you think ? deputydaughters.com We are enormously proud of her (but then we could be biased !!) ;) Misty :) PS - She says "They'll probably tell me to put meta-tags on the pages which I still have to do."

2006-10-06 22:27:00 | Your daughter has done a nice job Misty :) Just one suggestion: in the file names make the file names all lower case ;) eg: About_Us.html should be: about_us.html etc...

2006-10-06 22:30:00 | I am impressed by the cleanliness and direct approach to the information . I particularly like the "roll-over" section and think it is very simple to use and therefor a bonus to those who might need the services or are looking for the same for someone else . Congratulate her on good color composition and use of appropriate fonts too . The site is useable by those who may not be well versed in computers . . . and that's a big bonus for elderly ones who are nervous on the internet . Do they make house calls to Southern California?

2006-10-06 23:28:00 | The site is clean looking, presents information very simply and concisely, and should be very simple to use. Congratulations to your daughter on a job well done! I have a couple of minor suggestions for changes: The image in the title bar has noticeable pixellation on the diagonals (It looks a little jagged). It seems there is no antialiasing on the font. At that size it may appear clearer if you apply a slight blur to the image to smooth out those diagonal edges. I disagree with SurferJoe about the rollover effects :) . My experience is that these can be confusing to some viewers. I would have the menu of options at the top of the main content section and make each an internal link to the correct section of the page. As a quick fix to make it a bit easier you could change the instructions from "Roll over the headings..." to "Point your mouse at the headings..." or something similarly simple to understand for people without much experience of internet use. Hopefully this will avoid a moment of confusion for some visitors.

2006-10-07 21:41:00 | My only question is why you have the website pointed to a .com domain which commonly refers to a U.S. business whereas a .co.nz domain would show that the business is 'proudly' New Zealand owned. This might not be up to your daughter to change, but I think its worth looking into. | mister harbies (5607) | |
2006-10-07 21:46:00 | It's very nice. And re the meta tags, well all it really needs is a title. The change colour for the links is a nice touch. And the .com address is a good idea - if it ever goes international no-one can pinch the domain name. I also think it wouldn't be a bad idea to set up a paypal account and have an unobtrusive link for donations to the cause.
