490472 2006-10-10 05:19:00 Hi,

My Samsung RW drive has a problem with it. When I insert a CD and double click on E Drive, a message appears saying: E:/ is not accessible. The requested source is in use. What is the problem and how can I fix this problem?

Thank you,
Michael

490473 2006-10-10 07:48:00 What happens if you insert the CD and then hold down the shift key until the drive finishes spinning up (may take ~15 secs) and then try to double click on it? Jen (38)
490474 2006-10-11 04:31:00 the same thing happens Michael8 (7034)
490475 2006-10-11 06:00:00 Also, I am using a dell computer with a dell RW drive in D Drive and the samsung RW drive is in E drive Michael8 (7034)
490476 2006-10-11 06:08:00 You have added this extra drive recently? Did it work at one stage? Does it give this message regardless of CD type, eg audio CD, data CD? Jen (38)
490477 2006-10-13 07:57:00 It was added a long time ago. It did work at one stage. It thinks that every cd put into the drive is a audio disk because when I click open on this drive, it says track no. 1, track no. 2 and track no. 3. When I put the cd into my other cd drive, I can view the real files perfectly. Michael8 (7034)
490478 2006-10-13 08:07:00 This may or may not work, but try uninstalling the drive via Hardware Manager. Reboot the machine and let Windows re-detect it, then try the CD again.

You can access the Hardware Manager via Control Panel > System.
