490203 2006-10-08 21:51:00 Hi Everyone

I'm looking at buying a new ADSL router and I see that some of the ones advertised at places like Ascent and DSE list features as ADSL2.

I've asked around, but haven't really got much of an answer.

WHAT IS ADSL2???

I'm guessing it's a faster ADSL? If that's so, is it even available in NZ at the moment and can most phone lines even handle it? (For those who read my nightmare on getting broadband you'll appreciate why I want to check these points first).

Thanks

490204 2006-10-08 22:08:00 ADSL2+ is the latest version. Telecom and the other ISPs may roll it out within the next year. If the line is short enough max download is close to 24Mbps. Your line may rule out those speeds but most new equipment should be capable. If you buy older gear it should be cheaper because it may have other limitations. PaulD (232)
