1408154 2015-09-10 08:42:00 As the title says can this be disabled when opening attachments from Outlook. Since they are always sent from my work computer by me. If they come from an anonymous sender I never open them just delete them. gary67 (56)
1408155 2015-09-10 10:14:00 Its nothing to do with windows 10 - its Outlook. You haven't said what version of Outlook, but have a read www.slipstick.com wainuitech (129)
1408156 2015-09-10 19:45:00 Yes I know but with Win7 and Outlook 07 it gave me a choice to tick the box not to ask but under Win10 that choice is greyed out same version of outlook. gary67 (56)
1408157 2015-09-10 22:50:00 Yes I know but with Win7 and Outlook 07 it gave me a choice to tick the box not to ask but under Win10 that choice is greyed out same version of outlook. Its exactly the same, greyed out on W7 & Outlook 2010, so it nothing new. As mentioned first, its not W10 its Outlook.

As the link posted theres an easy fix, obviously hasn't been tried other wise you'd see.

You open Outlook as administrator, tick the box as shown in the article. Close outlook, on reopening you'll get the prompt to run Outlook, then you double click your attachment, the box can now be unticked not to prompt ( previously greyed out). Open the attachment. close it. Close outlook, go back and right click Outlook / Properties, untick the run as administrator / Apply. Now when you re-run Outlook it will open normally, and the attachments when clicked wont bring up the ask prompt, they will simply open.

I know it works as I did it myself before posting the original reply to make sure it did work.

1408159 2015-09-11 00:16:00 What you may find is once its been disabled for one type of Program , lets say PDF's, you will still get the prompt for others, Eg: Photos, Word Documents, Spreadsheets etc, so you'll have to untick the appropriate ones as and when required :) wainuitech (129)
1408160 2015-09-11 01:00:00 First of all don't use Outlook, there are plenty of other Mail clients. I have used "Forte Agent" for many years, also does Gmail.
I also use "Mailwasher", a Kiwi program which enables you to create filters and to view your mail without downloading it, and to delete it on the server prior to opening the Email client.
