1407736 2015-09-01 09:14:00 I have just installed Windows 10 and after a few minor? problems I only have one currently remaining. As Windows 10 had deleted what seemed to be most of my software I had to reinstall Microsoft office - the 2007 version. On opening Outlook I was asked if I wanted to import my address book but I can find no way of regaining my old email folders and their contents. Outlook just tells me that no files can be found. I had done a full back up of Windows 7 before the upgrade. Does anyone know of any means to recover the missing emails?

Thanks, John

1407737 2015-09-01 10:27:00 Windows 7 / Outlook 2007 , assuming you were using outlook before, the file is called a .pst file.

It should be in a hidden folder C:\user\yourname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\

NOTE: AppData is the start of the hidden folders.

If the Windows 7 is still bootable (Since you said it was a full backup) open a run command ( Windows key + R ) type in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook\ Press enter and it will open the folder directly.

If you had Outlook 2010 then it would be in Document\Outlook Files.

All you need to do is go to the old.pst file copy it out to the other install, and import it back into Outlook, all the mails, address Book /Contacts will be there. You will have to recreate the user account first though on the new install.

If you're no to sure how to import into Outlook have a read of how-to-import-your-pst-files-into-outlook-2007/ (www.techfleece.com)
