1398814 2015-04-17 23:49:00 The article is no surprise :)

only two schools were regular users of the iPad-based curriculum and those that used it intermittently reported frequent problems.

A couple of years ago some of my customers whose kids go to schools where they trialed iPads, Android tablets as well as windows / Mac based laptops said they gave up on the iPads after a short time, they simply couldn't do the tasks required. The other devices, no problems at all. These days Chrome books are more capable.

Ftr, it's schools in California rather than the whole of the U.S. and none of the school boards did proper due diligence prior to spending the cash. Had they done it properly they wouldn't be in this mess. (They may not necessarily gone with iPads)

"While Apple and Pearson promised a state-of-the-art technological solution they have yet to deliver it,"

The letters come after repeated demands from the LA school district that Apple and Pearson improve the way the scheme was being run

It reads as if Apple and Pearson dropped the ball and failed to deliver what was promised.

1398817 2015-04-18 21:16:00 "It hit problems when students were able to bypass security systems on the tablets and because the computer-based curriculum was incomplete."

There are always students who can bypass security. seemed to be a favorite past time of the high school down south, neighbour boy used to report to me their varying successes....
