1398559 2015-04-15 00:54:00 I have had the same sim card for some years now. It has been in 3 or 4 phones - that's a lot for me.

Just lately I have had trouble sending texts. It receives okay but will not send.

So I am supposing that I need a new sim card.

Am I able to have a new sim card with my old number or do I have to have a new number?

Your help with the answers to these questions will be appreciated.

1398560 2015-04-15 01:05:00 I recently had a problem with 2 Degrees, sending and receiving text. Their help desk couldn't see where the problem lay and asked me to drop by one of their stores. A couple of quick checks and the store confirmed the sim card was faulty, replaced it with a new card as well as retaining the original number. And all at no charge.

 2 Degrees.

1398562 2015-04-15 01:11:00 Hi Roscoe,

Sim cards can go faulty and before they allowed number transferring, we use to go to their outlets and have the sim card upgraded.

I think now you can just buy a new sim card, don't activate it! and transfer your number to it.

Your problem does sound strange, have you tested your sim in another phone to make sure its the sim and not the phone?

Cheers,

KK

1398563 2015-04-15 01:22:00 Dont know who youre with. But I'm with Spark for this cell. Rang them just over a week ago, the sim in the old cell, was bigger than the windows phone one.

Changed cells because the screen cracked on the android, and I wanted to keep the #. So all TC did was delete the # on the android sim, xfer it to the windows phone. And I'm using the old # on the windows phone now

Thanks for that Kame. My daughter will be over on Saturday. I could try the sim card in her phone then. Sounds an excellent idea.

1398565 2015-04-15 06:45:00 SIM cards do fail, had a couple do it ( Murphys law - usually on a Thursday or Friday) , and had to get replacements urgently (business Phone #) The original numbers can be transferred no problems. wainuitech (129)
1398566 2015-04-15 06:57:00 When they're faulty they don't go; only the good ones go. R2x1 (4628)
