Mate says they work.

They also done a line that went to Indonesia, Can was a third of the size and one blast would kill everything that flew into the vicinity for hours.

In that case all dictated by EU.

We live in a sanitised world thanks to PC attitude.

1397954 2015-04-04 02:47:00 Teenage daughter uses hair spray/sealant which smells much stronger than any fly spray we have used. I got rid of a spider and it's web on my car by using fly spray with a straw. The spray condensed to a strong smell liquid - more effective than simply spraying. kahawai chaser (3545)
1397955 2015-04-04 03:12:00 I use Johnson,s Raid. When the flies are sprayed with this stuff they initially go wild and fly around aimlessly before they drop dead. I have to keep my head down. Maybe the flies around here have seen the Raid advert on TV.

During the summer I get flies coming in in one at a time. I must be an ugly bugger because when they spot me they head back out through the door they come in. I seldom cook tasty roasts.

I love this bit "Flies only have two jobs – finding food and mating – and they are very good at both of those things. If they aren't breeding then they will be foraging for food." (I know some humans like that:rolleyes:)

Apparently, we seem to have more flies around this Summer. It's to be hoped you or one of your neighbours haven't placed a compost heap in the vicinity. Flies love those.

We aren't too troubled by flies, thanks to fly screens at the doors and windows.

1397957 2015-04-04 03:36:00 Its the damn cockroaches we have, I put a bug bomb in the roof space last week, got 50 roaches that either came out of the downlights or crawled outside from the soffits, managed to kill all the ones I could find, will do the same again next week. Fly spray doesn't kill them either so had to make a roach killing stick. gary67 (56)
1397958 2015-04-04 03:55:00 Many years ago while flatting we had a cockraoch infestation. My sister who I flatted with at the time asked the pest control guys who did the supermarket she worked at what to do. He recommended this stuff www.northerndistributors.co.nz which I bought from wrightsons. The cockroaches had survived every brand of flyspry and several cockroach bug bombs but this stuffed nuked the **** out of them. We were sweeping up dead cockroaches in a few locations for days.

It also seemed to kill everything else for about 6 months. It's a surface insecticide and too nasty to safely spray into the air, you apply it around the skirting boards and every entry and exit point in the house and each room. When insects walk or land on it it kills them very quickly.

1397959 2015-04-04 03:55:00 Cockroaches in Houston were a real menace. Within several months of having your house fumigated (as in the entire house is encased in a cover and the chemicals do their thing over 2-3 days), the little beasties were back. Get up in the middle of the night, turn on the light in the kitchen, and this black carpet on the floor would disappear before your eyes. And when it rained, one didn't shelter under a tree because the tree roaches were just as likely to fall down your neck. WalOne (4202)
1397960 2015-04-04 04:30:00 Here in the land of skippy we get the pest control into do a treatment every year or so, still about a month ago there seemed to be a roach explosion and we were chasing a few around every day.

White tile floor, white walls, white ceiling, they don't find many places to hide once they have been spotted.

Fly spray kills them but you have to paint the bastards with it and then let em find a place to die.

Big bastards here to, You don't want to squash em, makes a mess.
