2015-08-27 06:54:00 | It would seem that over the past few months I have a problem of a long running script. I have no idea what the script is all about, but it certainly is disrupting my news, but not my email. I have had several where it has been detected by others, however I do not know what is causing it. I have no idea what it is all about, but it is always there. The HDD is always busy running the script. I have a laptop running an Acer Aspire 5100, which I have had for sometime. Wonder if anyone can help to get rid of it.

2015-08-27 07:09:00 | Whats reporting the long running script? Usually online in a browser, if a script does not finish within a specified amount of time, it is unassumed its in an endless loop and can not finish its task, so it gives you an option to wait or stop it. If stopping it causes no issues then it may not of been needed. Cheers, KK

This file starts very shortly after the computer boots and then it will continue until the computer is switched off. If I want to run something, it will take some time to even get started and sometimes it gets through and the file will slowly get done. |

2015-08-28 05:26:00 | Well, you could at least run Malwarebytes to see if it can find something. Then try ADWCleaner. It may not be malware but, hey, it is a first check.

2015-08-29 05:03:00 | Does it still run if you are offline? Looks like you are onto something Driftwood, as the so called Long Running script DOES still exhibit activity even when the computer is physically disconnected from a network/internet. This of course would suggest therefore something is wrong with the internals of the laptop! Maybe a problem with the HDD or something else. Would love to hear what I might try now. I have tried Malwarebytes, but nothing was found.
