1398295 2015-04-10 02:30:00 I am sure that sign behind her says "Don't feed the bunnies..." Jen (38)
1398296 2015-04-10 02:35:00 A more correct interpretation might be "Don't make noises like a lettuce or carrot when rabbits are hungry . . . R2x1 (4628)

Yes, when I was a young fella in the very early 60's, my landlady used to serve them up. One of the other boarders used to supply them. I agree pctek, lovely grub!!

1398300 2015-04-10 20:27:00 Actually, down South I was getting rabbits from a lady...for dinner.

But then I found out there weren't paddock rabbits, she bred them for the pet trade, these were the pretty fur, cute type.
They were of course, socialised, so they were friendly, affectionate etc....The ones that didn't sell were lunch - hers and others.

I couldn't bring myself to go see. Receiving them minus head and fur was fine, I could happily dismantle them and eat them.
Seeing happy little balls of cuteness first? No....

Likewise the geese. Received a dead goose from neighbour. Plucked it, gutted it, cooked it. Mmmm...yum.

Then someone else found out I'd actually eat the things (none of them did), and bought me a sack.
Opened it, 2 live geese crawl out and run towards me, one of them trying to hide in my jersey.

Those 2 we took down to the river - the fishing spot, and released them away from the farmers with guns.

1398301 2015-04-14 20:12:00 Where's the Myxomatosis virus when you need it!!!Just read this... its lousy. Why? After six months of missing my little daughters while they were in England, I finally saved enough money to join them Their mother had bought them a couple of beautiful lop eared bunnies as pets. Just before I arrived in West Yorkshire the local (stinking motherless, corn-fed, lower decile, in-bred, sheep fornicating, sons of bisexual mutant) farmers spread the virus (somehow, but it's a fact) throughout the region. My daughters, aged at the time of two, four and eight, were devastated. I had to take their pets to the vet to have them put to sleep. They were in such atrocious condition that even the vet was reluctant to touch them, even in her gloves!

Its a vicious virus, and has no place in our modern world; all respect to you johcar. :(
