Rather tired of the WEAR A MASK, KEEP YOUR DISTANCE rubbish now. sorry but vaccination only does half the job. we still need social measures to do the other half. its the combo of both that makes it work (which is why delta infection rate is has been going down). so yeah you still need mask, distancing, group sizes etc. omicron, early days on that. fingers crossed we can keep it out for longer and we learn from everyone else first. |

2022-01-01 05:43:00 | sorry but vaccination only does half the job. . Does it? Exactly what does vaccination not do? And why were not required to do this with everything else we have and do get vaccinated for?

2022-01-01 06:00:00 | Statistics New Zealand · Last updated: 6 hours ago New cases: 0 Deaths 51 And the modelling said: A total of 3.32 million New Zealanders would be expected to get symptomatic illness; 146,000 would be sick enough to require hospital admission; 36,600 would be sick enough to require critical care (in an ICU); and 27,600 would be expected to die. www.health.govt.nz Which just shows models are GIGO and meaningless www.stuff.co.nz People are sick of it. We have had various people here, tradies and the like, all them happy and relieved to remove mask while here. All of them say the same thing. Why bother getting the vaccine then? Panic govts and bs modelling....

2022-01-01 06:28:00 | It is long past time to stop being terrified and climb out from under the bed and just get on and live our lives like rational human beings . The whole business is a lot more about politics than health . The further the Covid Karen's (Male and Female) socially distance from me the better I like it . And a happy new year to one and all as well .

2022-01-01 07:16:00 | Does it? Exactly what does vaccination not do? And why were not required to do this with everything else we have and do get vaccinated for? the vaccine doesn't stop the spread 100%. in the lab its about 70% effective against delta (assuming you get enough vaccinated), in real world info from oz etc shows around 50%. hence you still need some social measures to take up the slack. the good news is high vaccination rates means you don't need harsh measures ie what we have now. the modelling was what happens when you don't have enough vaccinated. the good news is nz is really well vaccinated in most places, putting a lot of other 1st world countries to shame. have a look at UK at what happens when vaccine is moderate and social measures are completely stopped. their rates of delta cases where steadily going up (until omicron hit). yes people are sick of it, but its not over yet. we still have a bit to go. fingers crossed we get lucky with omicron and delta cases continues to drop.
