1480339 2021-09-08 03:21:00 I have at various times had 3 email accounts: inet, snap, and gmail. The one that is active and that I use is gmail. The inet account shows, under gmail in the left hand panel, and although snap is not shown any where, periodically I get a notification something like "Your snap account settings are out of date".

I have been through the "File, Account information, Account Settings, Add & Remove Accounts, and the Account settings window only shows the gmail account information.

How do I remove the 2 unwanted accounts, and convince the machine that they don't exist?

1480340 2021-09-08 04:52:00 Assuming its W10 ( or W7) go into the Control Panel - you can find it by clicking in Search, and type in Control (Not the new Settings).

When its open, change the layout to Large icon View, top right where it says "View By"

Locate The Mail Icon open it, then open Email accounts

As long as the default account is not one you want to remove, select the one(s) to remove and click remove.

Their Data Files will remain but the Account will be gone and not showing in the email any more. ( make sure outlook is closed when you do it)

Sometimes you can just right click on the Account in outlook and select Remove, sometimes its grayed out other times doesn't work. ( it actually get stuck in removing)

1480341 2021-09-08 06:33:00 Thanks wainuitech, I have done as suggested, but just got back to where I was when I did as stated in my post. There is nothing to select to delete other than the default account.

1480342 2021-09-08 21:19:00 It may be something other than outlook causing the Snap message 1101 (13337)
1480343 2021-09-10 22:22:00 Thanks 1101, I am beginning to agree, but what? can you suggest what I might try, or who I might ask? Brucem (8688)
1480344 2021-09-10 22:39:00 Have a look back where the accounts are located, open the Data Files tab, is the Snap file there ?? If so delete it. BUT if it is make sure you go to its location and copy it out if you want to save its contents.

The other places it could be is in any other email client you may have still installed but no longer use. If no other email clients do you have installed any programs that may have used the Snap account in the past ?

1480345 2021-09-14 06:34:00 Thanks wainuitech,

I have done what you suggested (I hope), there are now two accounts shown:

C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\email addr@gmail.com-Bruce.pst

This folder contains:

RoamCache folder, which contains 9 files
and 7 files

C:\Users\myname\OutlookFiles\email addr@inet.net.nz.pst

This folder contains 2 files and is labelled as the default:
emailaddr@inet.net.nz
emailaddr@snap.net.nz(1)-Bruce.pst

Originally my email account was with inet (a small Christchurch company) this was subsequently taken over by Snap, which was later taken over by 2 degrees. As I understand it inet was an alias for snap, and I got them to remove the inet account and for a while I was using snap. I cannot change the default account.

1480346 2021-09-27 04:46:00 I have finally managed to remove the snap account: I did this in "mail". There is now no file listing for snap in "account Settings" and there have been no reminders since I did it yesterday. Brucem (8688)
