1480142 2021-08-29 03:18:00 I have both of these at present, the Malwarebytes from a recommendation on this forum some years ago. The Norton program wants to upgrade, but apparently can't with Malwarebytes in place. I have had both for years and never had this problem until now. My feeling is that these programs do different things. Can anyone comment on the way forward? Brucem (8688)

You'll find both are actually fighting one another as the way they work they think each is an infection ( in simple terms) You're not twice as secure, far from it.

Going by the fact that Norton says Malwarebytes needs to be removed confirms above.

Malware bytes doesn't scan any email (which is useless) as infections can get in via them. Norton has to many useless bells and Whistles.

What you cant go by is Online reviews, look up any review and you'll get different results, look again next month and all of a sudden the Great review is suddenly not so good.

Many here prefer Eset's range of Products. They are light on system resources and work very well.

NOTHING is perfect, but some are better than others.

Every so often I run Emsisoft Emergency Kit On PC's, never finds anything www.emsisoft.com (I use Eset EndPoint Security on all the computers).

If a Customer has another AV installed and doesn't want it removed I run EEK, often it finds something that the Installed Misses.

Nortons is the worst thing ever.

Ditch it and install NOD32.

1480145 2021-08-29 22:01:00 Malwarebytes is very good at cleaning up infected PC's .
But as noted above, you want something that can scan emails .

Norton AV: just living off the reputation of the Brand name. Not as bad as it used to be .
I wouldnt pay for renewal once its due.
