1479537	2021-08-17 05:20:00	The email I am using is called Outlook. My wife uses Hotmail on her laptop but it is identical to my Outlook. I also have Outlook in my Microsoft 365 but it is nothing like the other Outlook, and I can't get it to work for some reason. Another problem is that I can find no way in the Outlook which does work how to create rules for inwards mail, such as stopping anything with Casino or Bitcoin in it. I have heard I need a program called Exchange to get Outlook 365 to work, but supposedly Microsoft 365 already contains Exchange, but gives no reference to it when searching. Microsoft bought hotmail in 1997. So that's not a problem. If you want to remove emails with those topics, use a spam blocker. All I do, as my email comes via gmail to my email program, is MArk As Spam in gmails webserver and it takes care of it all. But there are 3rd party spam blockers.	piroska (17583)

What gives with this Microsoft stuff. This is a time that some bright spark in MS decided it was a good Idea to name two completely different programs the same. The Basic Mail, "outlook" that comes with Windows 10 is very limited. To make any rules you need to log on to the online version Via a web Browser and log in, top right click on the Cog (settings), down the bottom -- View all outlook Settings. There you can make rules, add senders to junk, other options. 11041 What ever rules are created online the Mail on the computer will respond/ do as its told as its being filtered before you get it. In Outlook (365) Its even easier along the top From the Home Tab -- click on Rules --- Make what ever rule you want to your hearts content. 11042 If its an existing Mail you have already recieved, right click the mail - Rules - Creat Rule --- Select Options you want. You DONT need Exchange, its basically server Software. Office 365 plan includes a number of individual services, such as Exchange Online and SharePoint Online.	wainuitech (129)
1479540	2021-08-17 11:21:00	If you want to Block a sender, support.microsoft.com OR one Program thats VERY good -- Mailwasher https://www.mailwasher.net/ Allows you to see all incoming mail before you get it, (works with just about every mail client) you can block, mark as spam, Auto Delete, Add to friends. Been using it for years ( paid version allows more accounts) On Average I might get 50-60+ mails a day, you only allow the ones through you want, everything else gets removed and you never download them.	wainuitech (129)
1479541	2021-08-17 22:01:00	I have @hotmail.co.nz and @outlook.co.nz email addresses. I use Microsoft Office Outlook Client for my emails, also Outlook App from the Microsoft Store. (Note there is also a Windows 10 Mail which is very limited, I don’t use) I previously used Outlook Live in Microsoft Edge web browser. The Outlook App I usually run minimized so if a junk email appears in the Outlook Client (I rarely turn my PC off) I can easily handle it in the Outlook App by either marking it as Phishing or Blocked or if persistent then create a new rule The rule is actually made in the Microsoft Exchange Server. This seems to work well for me. Coincidentally I just got a new “Bitcoin” Junk email at about 11.30pm last night. I note that this one has a “Display Name” of Bitcoin but with a hyperlink buried, that same hyperlink was also buried under 2 other different “Display Names” The only word I could search for is BTC and only in the Subject and Body as there seems to be no buried hyperlink under that. In the Sender Address it does include BTC but there is a hyperlink under the whole Sender Name so cant search for BTC there Twice in the last 2-3 weeks I have had 2 emails from McAfee saying my license has expired and wanted me to renew it. Interestingly they both appeared in my Inbox (not Junk Email Box) but I know it is Phishing as I have not had McAfee for so many years now. Next time it appears I will make a new rule in the Outlook App to block it, if I can find a suitable word to search for.	Jedsdad (17435)

NEVER Block one, another will come in after a few days. Its literally a wack a mole game. Just accept that some spam will allways get through. its just the way things are. Trying to block individual spam senders is only a very short term fix , next week those spams will come in from a new spam sender .	1101 (13337)

That's why I like and use Mailwasher, you see everything before it comes in and you can dump what you don't want, only leaving the ones selected to arrive.	wainuitech (129)
