| 1479403 | 2021-08-14 22:50:00 | A mate, who is still running Win10, has a number of old .swf Flash Video’s which he would like to save in another format. He can play them fine on his computer, using “Flash Movie Player”, but nothing we can find, including On Line Cloud converters, can convert them to anything else. So, our thinking was to play them on his computer and screen record them. He needs them to remain in a video format. (Video + Sound) Anyone any bright ideas as .swf Flash files have been obsolete for a number of years now. |

One other I've used a lot was xmedia -Recode -- Site says it does .swf www.xmedia-recode.de Update: Neither VLC Media player or Handbrake or XMedia can see the .swf files let alone play or convert them. But, Flash Movie Player and PotPlayer have no trouble playing them and good quality with Sound in sync too. As I recall some players of yesteryear had trouble syncing the sound on swf files. However, neither Flash Movie Player or PotPlayer have any conversion facility as far as I can tell. This takes us back to thinking play the movies with Flash Movie Player or PotPlayer and screen record. Not sure that can be done either. So, who would recommend what as a screen recorder or another conversion programme that might handle the job? |

| 1479408 | 2021-08-21 03:29:00 | It just gets sillier. Adobe Media Encoder wants your Name, E-Mail, Logon, you name it, they want it, and that was for a trial version. That ended that. Ashampoo Snap came up with this error message which means nothing to me. 11050 Oh well, have to have a rethink. |

| 1479410 | 2021-08-21 06:46:00 | Thanks for that link Dave but looking at the capabilities they promote it can change files to swf but not from swf. Just to make my day, I thought Id upload a swf to Dropbox and anybody interested could download it and see how they get on. The file is only pictures of a place in Hervey Bay, Australia. (Great place for a holiday if one can live long enough to get out of Lockdown and get back) Well HERE (www.dropbox.com) is the Dropbox Link and wouldnt you know it you can download but not preview swf files. 11052 I think Id better have a little drink. :D |

Have a read: answers.microsoft.com Its caused by Damaged or missing Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library files. Was the original a video someone made up privately or one that was downloaded from someplace ? |
