1482734 2021-12-09 20:40:00 No never had a problem with Crapple stuff as I won't allow it in the house.

:D:lol::clap :D:lol::clap

Same here. However I might go to the Crapple Dark Side - IF - it could record Freeview programmes (mainly news) so that I could fast forward through the adverts and sections we do not want to watch. AFAIK the only type of unit that can record are DVRs - with hard drives.

1482735 2021-12-09 21:10:00 Wainuitech - I received a different letter (see below) that omits that my unit will be moved to Sky . It seems to me that the Vodafone box will become a Sky subscription payment service, and that I may get a refund since I purchased it less than a year ago .

Looks like there's at least two Versions / Options .

I know you can actually purchase the Current decoders, but I work on the principle, hire it with your monthly Subscription . That way when they play up, you don't need to worry about warranties or having to buy a new one, you just call tell them its got a fault and get their backsides round to replace it .

Had that happen with the Old decoders a couple of times . :)

We do not and have never had a Vodafone subscription (or Sky, or Spark Sport) . The Vodafone TV box is internet-only .

I am not sure what you mean by Decoders, and what that enables / allows .

Thanks for any info - I always value your posts . You are a PF1  legend .

Remember once ours played up, the guy from Chorus came around Tested - its stuffed - brought in another - that wasn't working either, he cursed and swore , this is meant to be refurbished and working :angry :angry

As he stomped out to his van to get another, Saw him drop kick the decoder across the lawn in discus, breaking open, bits went flying :devil. (Was quite a good kick actually) ;)

When he came back I said "Saw you trip on the step going out " he laughed :D That one wont be a problem again.

1482738 2021-12-09 22:52:00 Seriously, anyone else had problems with the ergonomics of apple stuff. I think us oldies really are invisible to them.

Ken ;)

Even I find that remote to be annoying- it can detect brushes and movement like a trackpad but gets it wrong sometimes.

Thankfully I just use the remote app built in to the iphone; makes typing a dream.

I understand what you mean about being overly upmarket though- especially if you have been using something else for a long time, sometimes that's all you need :)

1482741 2021-12-10 02:01:00 We had Vodafone TV for all of one week.

The service/channel selection was useless. The help we received from VF was nil.

A shitty service.

1482743 2021-12-10 03:00:00 This may be something like what Sky will be sending out. www.stuff.co.nz (www.stuff.co.nz)

From Memory the current Vodafone remote already has Voice Control Or was coming - Cant remember (the hole is there) BUT with some of the Things SWMBO would tell it to do ;) going by what she says now when it plays up , I think its physically impossible for the TV to do :D
