Microsoft now tells us that this install workaround is designed primarily for businesses to evaluate Windows 11, and that people can upgrade at their own risk as the company can’t guarantee driver compatibility and overall system reliability. Microsoft won’t be recommending or advertising this method of installing Windows 11 to consumers. In fact, after we published this post, Microsoft reached out to tell us about one potentially gigantic catch it didn’t mention during our briefing: systems that are upgraded this way may not be entitled to get Windows Updates, even security ones. We’re asking Microsoft for clarification. Unless you're suggesting that they're lying, it literally says they were briefed by Microsoft on it. How much better fact checking can you get than that? There is a link in the article to the new PC Checker that MS have made, its different to the Original, and instead of a list as long as my arm why it wont work, there's only 3. Two of which is a simple case of changing a few settings. The Third is the CPU. So that website basically says, nothing has really changed. The current hacks to install W11 on old PC's will still work , you wont get updates. Not helpfull or usefull at all. 1480116	2021-08-30 02:29:00	CPU is the only thing supposedly not compatible on both of our laptops so I should be able to manually do them when ready and it will all still work. Might just image our drives when the time comes just encase. How about a dual boot install then if things turn to crap you can just delete the Win 11 partition.	paulw (1826)
