1482941 2021-12-17 18:22:00 On a whim I just did a speedtest and this is what I saw! Not bad for a 100/20 plan. :)
I don't know whether it is a Christmas present from Voyager or Chorus have done the speed upgrade without telling anyone.
Not complaining though.

1482942 2021-12-17 18:53:00 Chorus upgraded the base fibre plan from 100/20 to 300/100.

Most providers are doing the right thing and passing that on to customer

I knew that was the plan, but (a) I was expecting to be advised and (b) as Waiatarua was nearly the last place in AKL to get fibre I wasn't expecting it yet.

1482944 2021-12-17 19:43:00 Voyager

$20 a month more and:

Fibre Max
Up-to 950/450 Mbps

I was finding 100/20 quite adequate so I'll keep the $20 for other stuff.

1482946 2021-12-17 19:48:00 Says on a whim did a speed test, not because they noticed it . So not sure why they’d then was to go 1gbps down .

I have a hard time believing anyone could saturate that . Maybe with 10 streaming devices at once .

1482947 2021-12-17 22:05:00 One thing I've noticed. If I use the Ookla desktop app I get the speed I attached, but if I use the browser version I get maybe 126mbps down , but still 80-90 up. What's happening there? Tony (4941)
1482948 2021-12-18 06:54:00 Finally they realised that 20Mbit up on fibre is a joke in this day and age... Agent_24 (57)

When I saw the new numbers I had a flashback to when I rejoiced at a 57. whatever it was modem.

1482950 2021-12-18 22:54:00 Some speedtests use a close server and get better results, essentially just checking your ISP connection speed Some connect to overseas servers and you get bottlenecks along the way. The real world speeds tend to vary between the two. Or something like that.

Spark emailed me about the change and I did a test when I read it, got something like 308/105 or thereabouts. I do recall it was slightly over.
Just repeated it out of interest 11230
