I used to watch the tv program and found it silly really but much later here in NZ I went to a Karaoke Bar and people were singing Daydream Believer with real passion. Now when I hear it I really like the song and also Last Train to Clarkesville. www.youtube.com Poignant song. www.youtube.com |

They had session musicians playing on their hits (not that uncommon back then) , and had talented people writing their songs (also common back then) There were even rumors when playing live , session musicians in the back , under the stage playing it all. And thats common now , sort of. Singers lip syncing at concerts is now very common . And still common for some band members or singers to pretend to play guitar , just using guitar as a stage prop ELO got caught , in concerts, pretending to play over prerecorded songs , way back . Nesmith's mother invented Twink , he inherited $50mil . A nice nest egg for him . I really liked the TV sketch show he did after The Monkees . |
