1479381 2021-08-14 04:22:00 I have used Thunderbird since, at least XP days & have found it good.
I also used it on Linux, years ago.
Anyhow I bought a new lappy about 10 months ago & had a hard ware failure about 2 months ago.
When I got it back I loaded a new version & since them each time I have to do a cold start I have to put all 6 passwords in.
Today I got notice of a new version, so I downloaded & run it and all the passwords in.
Any simple ideas of how I can stop this?
I'm disabled & not well, so brain dosent always work to well, so please, Keep in simple (KISS).
Thanks :wub

1479382 2021-08-14 06:52:00 The following is from 2019, but have a read -- could be something simple or could be a bug /fault in the program.

Try the basics first. Click on the following link windowsreport.com

1479383 2021-08-14 21:37:00 Do you use gmail?

If so, it could be:

you're using 'normal password' authentication instead of the preferred OAuth2.

First, set the authentication to OAuth2 in Server Settings for the incoming and also in Outgoing Server (SMTP), then delete the passwords in Saved Passwords, restart TB, enter the current working account password in the OAuth browser window when prompted.

Just wanted to know what it was. :D Thats the right up the top of Number 1 reasons people get infections. People clicking on things that they shouldn't OR not reading what they are actually installing, thats why I ALWAYS tell people ALWAYS use Custom or Advanced install option if they have them -- That way you can generally untick the Rubbish the program wants to install. Many dont listen then get calls -- Where did this ??? come from ??

Yes, yes, yes!!!! I spent years telling people this .

who cares what it is, you are not installing something are you, you're fixing an issue . Even if you were installing some new program, why would you install something else just because the installer wants you to?

Why are people so trusting with software, especially if they have little technical knowledge, it's mad .

Trust nothing until proven good .
Install nothing unless you A)Researched it and B)Wanted it .
