491216 2006-10-13 23:35:00 Ok this morning i was playing counterstrike source, i noticed on my other monitor my azureus download (bit torrent) said that Error: something about the disk and I/O Fault, 10 minutes later, still playing cs, all 4 other torrents go to ERROR: Disk Could not write data on D:\Torrents the directory does not exist, i opened my computer and noticed my D Drive was gone, i restarted, and as soon as i type in my password, and start loading my desktop i get a BSOD saying Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal and restarted my pc, did it again, and then i went in my windows xp disc, and did a chkdsk within the recovery console, as soon as i hit the Windows XP Screen, it just keep trying to load and load, never changing, i just reformatted my computer after a few more tries, and now its on the Windows XP screen, completely done installing and setting up user names, it sits on the screen and eventually goes black on both monitors, can ANYONE help? its recognizing my IDE HD, it WAS recognizing my SATA drive but now on the BIOS it says it does NOT exist anymore, i dont know why it did this all of a sudden, i have an MSI KM8GM2 Mobo, WD Cavier 320GB HD, and a 250GB SATA II HD,

2GB of Ram TWO 1 GB sticks of Corsair PC3200 DDR SD
AMD Athlon X2 4200+
WinFast GeForce 7600GT

please help lmao

EDIT: This pc is barely 2 months old, the Hard drive however is about 5, the SATA HD is about 3 months old
and the ram is about 7 months old

491217 2006-10-13 23:47:00 Check that the power and data cable on the SATA are plugged in properly.

The SATA power cable can come out pretty easily.

Does the mobo support SATA 2?

So u have 2 monitors connected?? You have to configure them thru properties on the desktop before u see both.

491220 2006-10-14 00:43:00 i can't see ANYTHING, i think my monitor is out of frequency range, I haven't touched the rez or refresh rate, but my monitor is like flickering on a black screen, and i hear sound but no picture DigitalMessiah (7649)
491221 2006-10-14 02:51:00 Just a thought now you have reformatted, do you have "onboard" graphics on your motherboard. If so, it may default to that output and not your Vid card. pheonix (36)

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL indicates a driver error.
Formatting and reinstalling was an over-reaction.

Unplug the 2nd monitor for sure and see if it will display ok then, if not go back into safe mode (with only 1 monitor) and get another driver, try an older one if you downloaded the latest.
