491082 2006-10-13 09:25:00 Its time i cleaned up all the rubbish,so thought I would re format the system.but i cant remember how i did it last time.Tried the obvious ,C;;drive R/click,Format, but wont let me.Any ideas?:help: nzace (6057)
491083 2006-10-13 09:34:00 Go into the BIOS, change your startup sequence to boot first from your CD/DVD drive, finish the boot sequence, insert your Windows CD, reboot, select boot from CD and follow onscreen instructions.

Not forgetting to backup to external media anything you want to save.

formatting a drive removes ALL the data, EVERYthing, on it.......you CANNOT use windows, as you have tried by doin what you've described above, to remove/wipe itself from the puter.....you need to either boot from the xp cd and go thru the 'install' process, which will enable you to partition and format the drive or use the 'old faithful' windows 98 boot disk.....

It'll get rid of the temp files etc on it.
