491110 2006-10-14 02:21:00 They are perfectly fine. Good clear image, as reliable as any other brand I have come across, plus you can purchase them with a 3 year cover for pixels.

But I would always suggest looking at any screen in the flesh before making a purchase, specs and brand dont tell you what your eyes will.

491111 2006-10-14 02:27:00 So you are using a ChiMei CMV CT-937A 19" LCD Wide Screen. I like to hear from someone that actually use a product as they know the pros and cons from experience.
What is it like?

Yup, I got the Chimei for my flatmate. Only con would be the sound. You have to plug the audio from the back of the case to the inputs, but its crap.

You cant even hear it lol. And according to the site/shop I brought it from it says its DVI. It isnt. Its only got a normal VGA connection.

And I sent them an email to say this was misleading. I see they've now removed the DVI bit.

But besides that its fine. Does what its meant to.

Get what u can afford, if you want it for gaming / whatever well its gonna cost ya.

Do searches in google or yahoo / whatever and do some work yourself. On what does what / whats better / reviews.

491116 2006-10-14 03:12:00 I have already done searches on Google but cannot find reviews on these motherboards
I am hoping that this is not because they are just cheap and nasty!!!

491117 2006-10-14 03:38:00 Your trying to buy too much for your budget, realistically $1200 would buy you everything you want without the LCD.

If you choose AMD consider getting an motherboard that uses the nForce 6150 chipset, the onboard video isnt that great but could be a good stop gap measure untill you can afford a good video card. Plus the money you would have spent on a video card can be used to buy better componets.

If i was you'd id be tempted to buy a Socket 775 board based on the P965 chipset and pair it with a Pentium 805, wait six months and eventually the price of Core 2 Duo's will decrease and upgrade the CPU then.

491118 2006-10-14 03:57:00 im not sure if im right:

but i think a 6600gt is actually better than a 7300gt?

Correct me if im wrong but i remember hearing that..

anyway, theres gotta be a reason why 7300 is cheap..

get something like a 7600gt, its only about 50-100 dollars more than a 6600gt..

491119 2006-10-14 04:25:00 What the! That computer can last you only about a year I mean for new games in low details mode! What about 2007 games? :illogical
PSU? Get something else rather than no brand. I've tested a lot of no brand products means they're cheap and not reliable. Branded companies move to China and made their product does it means it is poor quality? Answer is NO, because you're paying more for the quality rather no quality.
:2cents: Don't get no brand products unless you them very well.
