| 491086 | 2006-10-13 10:30:00 | k so i complained to my isp about MANY things today, prcing, them changing my plans without informing me, speed issues, so they gave me 3.5mb FREE OF CHARGE! so i thought this was great and then i went to 10.1.1.1 and looked in diagnostics and saw my internet speed HAD gone up to like..what ever Attenuation 19.0dB 39.0dB Connection rate 4288 Kbps 160 Kbps before it was onyl like, 2000 something and same upload so anyway i did a speed test on nzdsl.co.nz, and it said 2mb, and im like, ohwell, maybe its just wrong? so i went and downloaded something off rapidshare, which has VERY fast connection, basically as fast as my net will allow, it will upload, as i have a premium account. so im downloading and MAX is 200kbps..this is multi connections and everything..i was like ''WHAT THE!?'' so in conclusion, making my internet ''faster'' has actually made it slower, as i use to dwnload with multi connections @ around 250kbps. so yeah, i am wondering, what will happen when xtra and all the other isps start making FS/FS? will it be like this? will i still download at around 200kbps? btw: im with orcon. |

| 491087 | 2006-10-13 10:56:00 | I guess it is not too bad reaching 2mb/s on a 3.5mb/s plan, and that it is free of charge. If you think you speed has decreased, try downloading at another time, from a local server which does not have a heavy load. | developer (4447) | ||
| 491088 | 2006-10-13 11:30:00 | spartan_chief_nz Where in NZ are you? Also it could be your exchange which is the problem as it could be overload or has an issue which telecom has to fix. Have you done a speed test at midnight/ 1am? |

Not the speed at which data will flow as it is controlled by the ISP. My 2Mb connection still says 8Mb connection even though maximum speed I can get from it is 280KB/sec |
