I have a customer who has deleted an e-mail that they wanted by mistake.
Unfortunatley for them, Express was set up to detete the Deleted items on Express being shut down, so all gone.
Has anyone heard of a way to get this back? I'm not holding my breathe, but am aways ready to learn.

Cheers

491844 2006-10-16 09:28:00 Yeah thats true, cicero is right. It will be on the webmail server for whatever isp they are with (not necessarily xtra).

Here are the links for webmail for the main ips:

ihug (webmail.ihug.co.nz)
Xtra (http://webmail.xtra.co.nz/)
Orcon (mail.orcon.net.nz)
SlingShot (http://webmail.slingshot.co.nz/)
Paradise (TelstraClear) (www.paradise.net.nz)
Clear.net (https://webmail.clear.net.nz/)

Hope you can find it :D

491845 2006-10-16 12:31:00 Sorry to be a wet blanket, but my webmail's Inbox displays only emails which haven't aleady been opened in Outlook Express.
And ita Trash folder doesn't hold OE's deled items, just those deleted within the webmail.

491846 2006-10-16 15:17:00 You would find it at xtramail,on the web.

this is HIGHLY UNLIKELY since by default OE is setup to 'delete mail from the server' once it's downloaded to the puter........

491847 2006-10-16 15:19:00 there ARE free file recovery programs available just use google .........and DONT use that puter untill you have run such a program and DONT install that program on that puter either ......run the hdd as a slave and run the program from the master drive.......the more you use that puter the less your chances of retrieving the file..... drcspy (146)
491848 2006-10-16 18:29:00 Better off, if you have a USB (or Firewire) HDD case, install the recovery program, THEN plug the hard drive in via USB (or Firewire). When finished, unplug it and use it again.

491849 2006-10-17 06:15:00 Thanks one and all for the responses.

It has been put in the "Too hard" basket
The customer, of course, wants the email recovered
but as usual wants it for free and for nothing !!

Guess thats the end of that one.

Thanks again.
