'morning all. The Samsung SM348BT503 CD/DVD drive in my Optiplex GX150 will still read and play, but no longer supports writing to CD. It arrived second hand with Nero 5 which worked, and I uprated to Nero 7 which 98SE struggled with. Uninstalled, and reinstalled Nero 5. Now the program will accept and 'write' files but although the progress bar moves and 'burn completed' messages appear, the CD remains empty. The write speed section of the menu is greyed throughout. HP WriteNow also says that the device does not support writing to CD. Have uninstalled the drive, reinstalled from Settings, and reinstalled firmware T503. Is there a way to determine where the problem is, registry or drive?
