2006-10-18 07:33:00 | Hi, For quite some time I have used Reg Seeker to clean out any useless items in the registry. Now, I have had a small window pop up when I go to do so, saying "Indice de liste hors limits(0) -and can not go any further. A long time ago I had this show up and somehow must have corrected things- not so now. Can anybody tell me what this means- and why in french? I am using XP sp2 and everything is up to date- from Nortons , to Windows ,Office etc all. :help: effie c

2006-10-18 08:40:00 | Hi S G , I do use ccleaner and always get stuff to delete whether or not I ran Reg Seeker- which suggests there are two different jobs for the two programs. Do you know what indice de liste hors even means? I really would like to know, so I can then prceed to correct the fault-in english  Keep them cards and letters a'comin in folks :D effie c

2006-10-18 08:56:00 | lol, nope wouldnt have a clue what it means. Look on the site you got regseeker from. There maybe a FAQ there somewhere. It looks like it means this Index of list except limits (0) Its either german or french. Even in English I dont know what it means lol It could be like what Spybot use to do with that German message that used to come up until it was updated.

2006-10-18 19:20:00 | RegSeeker has recently been updated. Uninstall your current one and try the latest. Would suggest that you ensure you create a system restore point prior to using, just to be on the safe side. Also, only select the green entries for deletion. www.majorgeeks.com

2006-10-18 23:21:00 | I have never had any problems deleting all of the entries except with Win ME, I think it was, where you have to use the reg fix for Add/Remove programs afterwards . The program makes backups first anyway, which you can restore if you find anything gets broken . The latest RegSeeker doesn't look too different to me . Just had a little spit and polish applied, mainly .

2006-10-19 07:24:00 | Hi FoxyMX I have just downloaded Regseeker and did a scan. Found 597 entries. Most are obsolete entries etc, and should be safe to delete. However there are a good number written in red and others in green, both with the same wording. You say 'only select the green entries for deletion'. Why is this and what about all the entries in red - do you just ignore them. I mean they have the same reason - obsolete entry etc etc. I haven't deleted any of the offending items until I get your comments. Thanks Smithie

2006-10-19 08:40:00 | Hi Smithie, I was being rather conservative when advising Effie to delete only the green entries as he seemed rather worried about the error message his previous version of RegSeeker was throwing up . Personally I always delete the lot . I have to confess that I'm not entirely sure why the red entries are flagged as such but I think they may be entries that the user needs to check before deleting . From my observations a lot of them seem to reappear the next time RegSeeker is run, as though Windows thinks it needs them even though it is obvious that many wouldn't be used . I have often had a similar number of entries to yourself and it is a lot but you will get much less in subsequent scans . As long as you allow RegSeeker to make backups you should be fine .
