492323 2006-10-18 01:39:00 Hi all,

Some websites have windows that open a new small window when clicked. However, instead of opening to a normal size, they always open to a fixed size, and aren't resizable. It's really annoying trying to read them cos I have to go into the source to read the text :@

Any help would be much appreciated.

The sample screenshot is what comes up when I open the NZPost Track and Trace window from here (www.nzpost.co.nz).

492324 2006-10-18 03:49:00 What version of FF are you running? What extensions are installed? muzzle (10342)
492325 2006-10-18 03:54:00 Latest FF (1.5.0.7).
Extensions are: Forecastfox, Adblock, Flashblock, IE tab, and the Xnet Usage Monitor.

492326 2006-10-18 04:27:00 Are you sure the window is not resizable? (mine are in f/fox). Try placing cursor on the lower right corner of the window and if your cursor changes to a double arrow you can drag the window larger. Shortcircuit (1666)

The window opens in a small size for me as well but it is the correct size, not munted like yours. Run Firefox in FF Safe Mode so that the extensions aren't running and see whether that makes any difference. If it does then blame one of the extensions.

Yeah it's definitely not resizable

How does one run FF in Safe Mode?

Edit: Hmm found the button in the start menu to run in safe mode, made no difference. The extensions all ran when I chose the safe mode option thought :S

492329 2006-10-18 05:49:00 It could very easily be one of your extensions. I use a range of extensions on my FF with no problems, but the only one we have in common is Adblock.

You could also check "about:config" in FF to see if anything is out of check.
Filter to "Window" in particular.

492330 2006-10-18 08:01:00 Hmm I'll start seeing if any of the extensions are causing it. In the meantime, if someone who understands the about:config stuff could check if they can see the culprit i there, it would be much appreciated :-)

492331 2006-10-18 12:26:00 Hmmm seems to be mostly caused by the Xnet usage monitor. Only when IETab and Adblock are also enabled though. Too much stuff in the status bar I think D:

Thanks for the help all :D
