| 492241 | 2006-10-17 21:07:00 | I've got XP Home Edition on my PC and as a student I have the chance to purchase the upgrade to XP Professional for a very reasonable price. What I'd like to know is, is it worth it? I don't know much about the operating systems and what each one does, so basically I'd just like to know if you were given the opportunity to upgrade, would you and why? What does XP Pro do better than XP Home - are there features that the pro version offer that are miles better than the home one? Currently I am running Microsoft Office Professional 2003 and Photoshop CS2 as well. |

I don't have any problems with XP Home, it does (as far as I know!) all that I need it to do, but when you see things you can get for a good price, it is worth finding out whether they would be of use. I'll stick with what I've got and save my money! | Beemer (6956)

But chances are (99%) that you won't notice any difference at all other than the words HOME & PROFESSIONAL. | bk T (215)

| 492247 | 2006-10-18 22:02:00 | Thanks guys, you are so good to me - I could have spent the $127 and thought "mmn, doesn't seem any different to me!" Now I can spend that $127 on about eight and a half tanks of gas for my bike, or taking my husband out somewhere nice for lunch tomorrow and fewer tanks of gas! And thanks for that comparison site too - if you hadn't assured me I didn't need to upgrade, that sure did! |
