| 494261 | 2006-11-08 21:54:00 | It didn't even start for me. So I went to http://speedtest.net and done the same server to New York (which was SpeakEasy). And here was my results: Download: 784 kb/s Upload: 113 kb/s Ping: 323 ms City: New York, NY Now that is really interesting, so a few minutes ago tried the same test and got: 1647kbps down, 103kbps up..... WOW.....BUT, I went immediately to The State University of New York located in Queens which hosts Bix Beiderbecke music files, and tried to download a 13MB .rm file. It was so slow the best speed before cancelling the download was 5 kbytes per sec. So how can that be explained??? |

And what really annoyed me off is on that testmy.net site people in the forums are asking how to make there internet faster than the already 10mbit they have...... |

I made a mistake, the server I was trying to download a music file from appears to be in Florida, the State University of New York was just a roundabout link to it. |

| 494265 | 2006-11-09 01:15:00 | Why don't you try simply asking for something better? It worked for me - I'm now on the Pro plan for the next month, but only have to pay $50 (rather than the usual $80) for it. Speed has jumped back up to 2.2Mbits/sec international - exactly as it should be. I have had to change to Pro also, however you can only change once per billing period....!!! So no Remote Support for me foe over a month!! Go Large will not work with Telecom Remote Office...!! They packet shape and probably wont allow businesses to use!!! |

| 494267 | 2006-11-09 04:50:00 | LOL.....Telecom really do play mind games with ya, it was a technican who said it couldnt be done, and that was a Telecom Tech, not Xtra Tech. I actually went thru to Lanlink/Remote office as its an issue for me now on the Go Large plan (or so it seems). The IT director went to lunch today with some Telecom exec, and the guy called me up to let me know they are looking into the issue. He stumbled when I mention a packet shaped or limited port uses on the 125 IP network...LOL Who knows what they are up to, not one of them can give me the same answer twice. |

| 494268 | 2006-11-09 08:58:00 | Since changing to Go Large from Pro Advanced my download speed has been pathetic. Usually not much faster than dial-up. From a time suspiciously close to the day when I assume my plan changed, my connection slowed to a crawl. Not on SOME downloads. On EVERYTHING. Not SOMETIMES – all the time. Weekdays, weekends, day or night. Xtra's speedometer shows a much higher speed than I'm getting on actual downloads. Same problem with me. But I'm just on Go Large. :badpc: |

| 494269 | 2006-11-09 09:23:00 | Xtras speeds are **** **** **** and they antagonise the hell out of you by trying to convince you that the fault is at you end rather than theirs. That to me is bull**** telecon own the line right to the side of your house yet they always say OH IM SORRRY SIR BUT THE FAULT IS AT YOUR END NOT OURS. Yeah right. Telecom sux to the very inner core. |

| 494270 | 2006-11-09 10:05:00 | Telecom announce a plan to reverse their share price slide. They are going to allow users to download the ztunes while they are on hold at 5c per tune. With a captive audience so large, they expect to double their income on the complaints desk alone. Tech support is to be re-branded as Ripoff's Believe It Or Not, every answer genuinely random. |
