2006-11-03 08:06:00 | OK I'm with Xtra Max/max speed my speeds are 4.0/4.1 down between 650/700 up is this good? I am thinking of going to Orcon for max/max speed not so much for the price , however $20 less is a bonus but because they have interleaving off as I do ALOT of VOIP calls, and Orcon have interleaving off , would my speeds be say a little bit better and also would it make a difference for VOIP calls with interleaving off? Thank you everyone. and have a gr8 weekend all! :) I'm on Orcon and I just did a Skype test call to my work number. Since Orcon turned off interleave VOIP is far better than it was. Local calls NZ terminating PSTN calls now are usable where as before it was usless and only good if there was a terminating switch in the country you were calling.. i.e USA..

2006-11-03 20:25:00 | Here is my latest speedtest from 9am Saturday. Download Speed: 596 kbps (74.5 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 119 kbps (14.9 KB/sec transfer rate) I honestly feel like tearing my hair out in frustration. Why haven't the press or TV got a hold on these speed problems and made a public issue about them? How can telecom charge for a service that they are clearly not giving? I'd be happy to go back one week ago when I was getting 1915Kbps and 170Kbps. I was content with those figures. Now, I might as well be back on dial up.

You should have had an email from Xtra telling you that your new plan will be . . . . . Adventure :) So for existing customers on that plan who do not opt to change, that plan will continue . There is now no option to join that plan . Those of us who changed to Go Large, for whatever motive, have now burned their boats, there is probably no way of going back . Out of interest what sort of speeds are you now getting with Adventure, for the Xtra speed test and internationally, say using Speakeasy . net? |

2006-11-03 22:31:00 | will check on my connection speeds soon , Just wondering why the go large plan is no good ??? from looking at the plan's its about the best one suited for me , abit the 128k upload stream. Just tested my speed , and is the following at 11.29am with xtra test is Your line speed is approximately 3293.4 Kbps or 403.6 K bytes/sec with the speak easy test is download = 2033kbps upload = 112.kbps

2006-11-03 22:46:00 | Those speeds are really good, that's more or less what I was getting on Adventure.........oh that I had stayed on that plan, but the temptation of paying $10 a month less was too great :) I had expected the speed to stay about the same on Go Large, unless the fair usage was contravened. My advice would be to stay put with Adventure, at least until Telecom come up with some official statement as to what they are playing at.

2006-11-03 22:56:00 | i am just wondering what is wrong with the plan , has it decreased your speed , are you close to the exchange , is it because its dropping people into the naughty group or what ever it is , Just curious on all this. | presso (10113) | |
2006-11-03 23:06:00 | After being on wireless for 2 years ( and having none of the constant problems i always hear dsl customers complaining about  ) I decided to give dsl a go again to see if my area has been unleashed!. My speedtest results as below. Speedtest taken 15 minutes ago. Last Result: Download Speed: 3216 kbps (402 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 579 kbps (72.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Below is the info in my 502T Router Max Tx Power -38 dBm/Hz <---- is this good or bad? Downstream - SNR = 12db, Line Attenuation = 54db, Data Rate = 4320kbs Upstream - SNR = 13db, Line Attenuation = 31db, Data Rate = 704kbs Ihug Max/Max Plan Live in Nawton, Hamilton, im wondering how far i am from the local exchange? I managed to get 500kBs constant over an hour on a torrent last night. Being that im over 3.5MB speed im assuming the local exchange has been "unleashed". Ive gone straight on to this plan, last time i was adsl was early 2004 and i was on a 256k plan i think. Cheers! Term X
