2006-11-02 08:28:00 | Telecom are just not being up front, it's a repeat of the Telecon Ad again: www.youtube.com ".......they know we are not being straight up....." (Gattung) I expect no one has the guts to go to her and say "we stuffed up large". The help desk people seem to know stuff-all. However if you are on Go Large, the download bit rate is far slower than the playing bit rate for most youtube videos, so you may not be able to view them properly. My favourite youtube "1920s site" is almost unwatchable now. Yet they are still showing their unleashed blazing TV ads where they seem to have a cesspit emptying truck and do something to a sewer manhole cover. We all know whats flowing down below that cover. This was the brilliant speed test at 7.53pm tonight: www.imagef1.net.nz It's whats flowing under that Xtra manhole cover :) Edit: I'll be emailing that jpg to them, that is if they accept attachments.

2006-11-02 22:17:00 | isnt 125 for the naughty pool only? A lot of people "appear" to have been put into the naughty pool by default. All this complaining is kind of stupid, I assumed there was going to be at LEAST 2-3 weeks turmoil before the larger problems are ironed out (if they ever are I mean). Personally I think what you are experiencing now it close to it, but I reserve judgment at least until another week.

2006-11-03 01:14:00 | Since changing from Exploere to Go Large on 27 october my speeds have decreased to an average of 1.043 Mbps down and 120 kbps up. Today, however, they are only averaging 398.6 kbps down! Telecom finally admitted to me, as they appear to have to some members in this forum, that there is a problem with Go large but ' that they are fixing it'. When I asked when they would not comment nor would they when I suggested a pro rata refund equal to the difference between my plan and dial up until such time as it was fixed. I find it interesting that Telecom's share price has risen steadily since they had 'in confidence' discussions with the select committee. Does this fortell a complete shafting yet again of the long suffering consumer? Rob

2006-11-03 01:38:00 | OK I'm with Xtra Max/max speed my speeds are 4.0/4.1 down between 650/700 up is this good? I am thinking of going to Orcon for max/max speed not so much for the price , however $20 less is a bonus but because they have interleaving off as I do ALOT of VOIP calls, and Orcon have interleaving off , would my speeds be say a little bit better and also would it make a difference for VOIP calls with interleaving off? Thank you everyone. and have a gr8 weekend all! :)

2006-11-03 02:06:00 | OK I'm with Xtra Max/max speed my speeds are 4.0/4.1 down between 650/700 up is this good? ...........:) You are just trying to make us green with envy :) All this complaining is kind of stupid..... Well, you are entitled to your opinion as much as anyone else, but for me. being downgraded to essentially dialup speeds most of the time, is a justified cause for complaint, those responsible should be sacked forthwith: www.imagef1.net.nz Especially after all the Telecom hype of unleashing and blazing internet speeds, quote: "Xtra Broadband unleashed! Xtra Broadband has unleashed a brand new plan line-up. Blazing download speeds are now available on all of our plans and we're also introducing the Go Large plan - maximum download speeds, unlimited data usage and all the Internet you can handle." Edit: my total download for 6 days is 780MB, I dont P2P, I have no idea, or little idea what 'Torrent' is, so no way can I be called 'a naughty boy' :) :)

2006-11-03 02:23:00 | Well if 125.* is the IP Pool then everyone has started off in it for a little preview of what to expect when you download too much :)? But I still get the same speed on my line which isn't that great. It used to go upto 2mbps but half that in recent months. So so sad :(

2006-11-03 02:51:00 | On 27 Oct 2006 I cut over to Go Express (Max/Max) and went from EXPLORER PLAN: Up: 119, Down: 2123 to GO EXPRESS PLAN: Up: 88, Down: 4411 (Modem says 800/5248) At this stage I was a little worried about my upload speed and it fluctuated between 74 and 161. However, after taking daily speed test readngs from the NZDSL site since the 27 October, I am constantly getting: Up: 600, Down: 4250 (Modem says 800/5056) I must admit I can tell a difference.
