| 495887 | 2006-11-01 23:13:00 | Seems impossible, cant be as Ive seen it done. I open the image file contain some unreplacible bolded text, I want to get rid of the White background. Im using the Magic Wand, press delete, then i end up with a yellow background, instead of transparent. If I choose File / New I get a Transparent background, but I cant see how to achieve this with the text image. Ive gone Colours/Set transparency then I get Decrease Colour Depth 256 colours where I get lost. Please where do I go from here. Thanks John in Mosgiel. |

| 495889 | 2006-11-02 02:39:00 | You have to promote the image from BACKROUND to LAYER. Otherwise deleting the image is only revealing the background color. Its like taking a painting and scratching off the paint to see the color of the canvas underneath. When you promote it to layer you remove the background so its like rubbing the picture off some transparent plastic. If its a gif file, you need to set the color to 16 million first, otherwise the promote to layer feature doesn't work |
