| 495454 | 2006-10-31 06:04:00 | Is a SATA or an IDE hdd the main bootdisk? If SATA check the power/data cable is on properly. Someone didnt change the bootdisk in the BIOS did they? |

| 495455 | 2006-10-31 06:12:00 | No one has physically changed any thing.I think is IDE. The fact that the screen at least shows the 2000pro logo, would this mean there is no fault with the HD? (Is alllll the display held in the HD?) | gradebdan (2186) | ||
| 495456 | 2006-10-31 13:23:00 | with the exception of the bios data EVERY bit of data on the pc is 'held' in the harddrivel........best you test both the ram and the hdd.......most if not all hdd manufacturers have freely downloadable diagnostic progs......seagate 'seatools' will test pretty much any ide drive anyway....just run the 'generic test' if it's not a seagate........as for ram testers well memtest86 or wintools are good....if you have more than one stick of ram try removing one at a time and running .......process of elimination... | drcspy (146) | ||

| 495458 | 2006-10-31 18:49:00 | A repair install of Windows can get it all back I have found. Then do what drcspy has said. In fact do what the error told you - check everything. |
